POINT BLANK: …A DAY AT THE BEAUTY SALON
When I was a little boy I hated it to get my hairs cut, because my and my mom’s idea about a good haircut varies… …a lot! Over the years I emancipate my ideas from those of my mom’s, but my hairs seems to do the same with me. I was pretty fast a bald person.
So, now you will think that I poor guy will never experience the spell of a beauty salon. – No no no, not with me! Not on POINT BLANK! So I dared it, stepped into the beauty salon ‘CARINA’, this hidden world for me for so long… …and see what I found out: The people love it! They have fun! They relax! Incredible! – And so I made my peace with this place.

This images I took in Havana/Cuba. Besides a stunning concert of the Buena Vista Social Club (see images CHARMING and CLOSE UP) in a small restaurant, we found music everywhere… …in bars, hotels, cafes… …and particularly in the streets.

A good friend of mine, John, left Georgia more than 20 years ago with nothing then a small backpack in his hand towards Russia. He lived homeless and just his dream on his mind to become a dancer. His first dancing school he founded in an old building in the city of Tver. – Now, almost twenty year later, we went back to that lost place to invite you for a little dance.
This is for you John !!! My biggest respect to your work and to your dream that you made become true !!!

…is, that today for me AGAIN is the ‘GOOD FRIDAY’. No tricks, no time machine… …it’s just because I’m now in Russia and the orthodox Easter will be celebrated this weekend according to the gregorian calendar. Appropriate for that some photos with CROSSES which I captured here.
POINT BLANK: DIRTY OLD TOWN
I didn’t met my love by the gas works wall, I didn’t dreamed a dream by the old canal and I didn’t kissed my girl at the factory wall… …but all these impressions from Barnsley/Yorkshire were so familiar to me and I’m sure I did these things mentioned in “Dirty old Town’ sometime in my past in my hometown of Bochum.
The history of Barnsley is similar to the one of Bochum: closed down mining pits, second-league football, nice pubs and a bunch of great people.

…is, that I love to travel. One country which I visited for a couple of times is Russia. Russia is fascinating… …the countryside, the cities, the mentality and of course the people. It’s so totally different from my home here in Bochum/Germany. So it could be that, once in a while, I try to show you some impressions I have about that huge country.
