POINT BLANK: THE OPENING…. EXHIBITION

24th of September / Tver / Russia. …there is one thing still open to tell… ..sure, the opening of the exhibition… ….but let the images speak for themself.

That was a great time! A wonderful way to experience. Priceless. Precious.

I want to thank my lovely wife Victoria for that to make it come real. Andrea for her support, her excellent photos and the wonderful time we had. Lena for her outstanding PR work, Alex and Olga (Gallery ‘Porcupine’), the John Show for that great entertainment (and all the red vine and pizza at Johns place), Luba and Mischa for the great TV report and last but not least the staff of the ‘Boutique Anthropologie’ for all that you did… …you are great!

POINT BLANK: YOU NAME IT…. “LIGHT”

In August/September 2016 POINT BLANK participated in a competition in Russia where people could choose a theme for my blog. Thrilling and so surprising what I get as suggestions for a new topic. What I expected was just themes. What I got was a flood of brillant ideas, expressed by such poetic words and suggestions. One of the three winner is Konstantin Sokolov with his suggestion “LIGHT”.

“Нет понятия более многогранного, чем свет. Свет – не просто антитеза тьмы в физическом смысле, но и символ во многом духовный. Поэтому для фотографа снять свет – задача очень непростая.
Свет солнечный и лунный, лучи на затемненном фоне – это очень красиво, но только маленькая часть света. Блики костра, вспышка молнии, луч прожектора (и,кстати, модель, освещенная лучом прожектора на подиуме) – природа и техника объединяются. А просветленное лицо, а человек, от которого исходит свет?
Снимать свет – задача для профессионала высшего уровня…” Соколов Константин

POINT BLANK: BUILD UP…. EXHIBITION

22nd of September / Tver / Russia. Countdown to opening : minus two days. Andrea, Alexeij and me in front of the empty white walls. Equipped with the scetches of the arrangement of the photos we start our work. Hanging, alignment, check, realign. 36 Photos (18 prints on photo paper, passe partout, black frame, print sizes between 40×60 and 120×80 cm / 18 prints an acryl glas with the same size) and information boards for the visitors of the 9 subtopics for the theme of the exhibition “MALE/FEMALE”.

After a few hours our busy hands did a great job and as we watched the result of our work we felt overwhelmed. It is a priceless feeling when you just stand there, looking at YOUR OWN photos in this gallerie… …wow, tears in my eyes.

To give you some impressions of that day, Andrea was so nice to capture all that for us. I’m so impressed by her work. Images which tell a story without words, she made hands speak, photos talk and the prints on the wall become one with the whole scenery of that place. But please see for yourself…
