POINT BLANK: FASHION SHOOT

I was ask to do a fashion shoot for the new DRYKORN fall/winter collection 2019/20. Yes of course. With pleasure. To enter new territory…  …and the world of posing. But, hey, why these poses seems so familiar for me even here in Russia in ‘real life’…  🙂

POINT BLANK: BAYON / CAMBODIA

The Bayon is a richly decorated Khmer temple at Angkor in Cambodia. Built in the late 12th or early 13th century as the state temple of the Mahayana Buddhist King Jayavarman VII.

The Bayon’s most distinctive feature is the multitude of serene and smiling stone faces on the many towers which jut out from the upper terrace and cluster around its central peak.

POINT BLANK: BEHIND BLUE EYES

Natasha, psychoanalyst, practices in Tver and Moscow/Russia, was always fascinated by portraits where features of a person captured on photos.

…and so we tried…  ..no concept, no rules…  …we just let go…  …and danced…

Natasha, thank you for that dance. 🙂

And the way you like to dress
Won’t you come on over
Stop making a fool out of me
Why don’t you come on over Valerie?”

POINT BLANK: FETE NATIONALE FRANCAISE

BASTILLE DAY, the national day of France, 14th of July

I had the pleasure to join the 14th of July in Arcachon/France this summer. It was nice to see how glad and full of joy the French people celebrated this day without any fanaticism.

But I’m always wondering, on such national days all over the world, why the military is at the center of interest at those parades. Why not the citizens? A parade of citizens presenting the country’s achievements, mentalities and cultural and culinary peculiarities. All that what made me feel so welcome in France. We had wonderful days. Merci!

Am I proud about my country? Of course….  …in the same way as I criticize the things that go wrong over here, in my country, my town, my street. BUT it was not my choice to born in this country, in this town. The fate just dropped me here…  …and so why not be proud of that what happened somewhere else…  …to enjoy other cultures and mentalities.

In Russia (where I have a residence) people consider me as an European.  …and that is a fact which makes me smile and where I agree with. Yes, I feel like a European..  ..a European who is curious about other continents.

POINT BLANK: KATE

That day I met Kate (Katya) the first time. She never did a photo session before. Our idea was to copy a drawing of my painter-friend Alekseij.

After the work was done she wanted more. “I love to see me on photos”  …wow. –  I’ve rarely met anyone who looked at their own photos with such natural joy. That was contagious ..  ..and so we continued the next hours. What a day.

Katya, thank you for all that joy. I’m looking forward to realize all the plans and ideas we had.

Катя, спасибо тебе за всю эту радость. Я с нетерпением жду реализации всех планов и идей, которые у нас были.

POINT BLANK: THE LABI HOUZ

Bukhara (Uzbekistan / Central Asia), an oasis along the historic silk road.

The Labi Houz is the name of the area surrounding one of the few remaining hauz, or pond, in the city of Bukhara. The ponds acted as the city’s principal source of water.

Nowadays it’s a wonderful place where people meet each other, strolling around, chatting with each other and having a cup of tea. A delightful place to chill.

POINT BLANK: ALEKSANDRA

Yes, I know, it sounds like a cheap excuse…  …but I need photos of nude women for a photo-painting-exhibition of me and my russian painter friend Alexeij.

Thanks to my female co-worker Aleksandra we started and finished the photo shoot very, very spontaneously. For both of us it was the first nude session…  …and it was fun..  ..a lot.

Frankly spoken it was just a test how to work with lights…   …but frankly spoken…  …wow…  …thanks, dear Aleksandra…   ….you look great…  …and yes, let’s do more! 🙂
