POINT BLANK: TRAPPED

Heather Donahue:
“I just want to apologize to Josh’s mom, and Mike’s mom, and my mom. I am so sorry! Because it was my fault. I was the one who brought them here. I was the one that said “keep going south.” I was the one who said that we were not lost. It was my fault, because it was my project. I am so scared! I don’t know what’s out there. We are going to die out here! I am so scared!”

POINT BLANK: SHADOW ON THE WALL

Many different people crossed our ways when we were young. There were the leaders of the pack. The shiny ones and their fellowship. The loud ones who try to tell you week by week what’s hip to do. The silent ones, the sad, the inconspicuous……but there were as well the ones who just appear like shadows on the wall. But they were there…  …and they attracting my attention more then all the others, because they seem to know the way out of here…

.
“..to trade in these wings on some wheels

From your front porch to my front seat
The door’s open but the ride ain’t free

And in the lonely cool before dawn
You hear their engines rolling on
But when you get to the porch, they’re gone on the wind
So Mary, climb in
It’s a town full of losers, I’m pulling out of here to win”

‘Hello cowgirl in the sand
Is this place at your command?
Can I stay here for a while?
Can I see your sweet, sweet smile’

POINT BLANK: Nón lá / RICE HAT

The Nón lá, the vietnamese rice hat. This style of hat is used primarily as protection from the sun and rain. When made of straw or matting, it can be dipped in water and worn as an impromptu evaporative-cooling device. By its diameter of 40 cm it also covers the average size of a shoulder from snakes falling out of trees. Hmm, good to know.

POINT BLANK: VIETNAM SCOOTERISTS

.

There may be nine million bicycles in Beijing. There may be in average two cars washed every saturday somewhere by one family in the western world. There are scooters in Vietnam. A lot! Not to express your lifestyle. Not just to cruise around. Just to let the vietnamese world spinning around. A world with wonderful people. Does this millions and millions scooters seem like a flood of anonymous vehicles? This is not about the scooters. This about the million individual stories of the people who ride it!

POINT BLANK: “I’VE GOT YOU UNDER MY SKIN”

“I’ve got you under my skin
I have got you, deep in the heart of me
So deep in my heart that you’re really a part of me
I’ve got you under my skin”

(Frank Sinatra)

POINT BLANK: inside ‘PROLETARKA’

During the epoch of industrialization in the second half of the 19th century, the idea of the ‘micro-cities’ embedded in Russia’s big cities was born. Those ‘micro-cities’ should provide all the comfort and facilities like living space, shops, schools, medical supplies, churches and a short way to work, for the workers of factories and their families. At that time the idea and realization was regarded as modern and innovative. Those places still exists, like you see here on the example of ‘PROLETARKA’ in Tver/Russia. There are still people living in, but the factories are closed down and the condition of the buildings are in need of renovation.

Thanks to Peggy/PERALO for the information.
